El Clásico de Leyendas between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid brought two of football’s most iconic institutions to Puerto Rico, reuniting legendary players whose careers defined one of the sport’s greatest rivalries. The event emphasized legacy, fan connection, and cultural celebration, offering Puerto Rican audiences a rare opportunity to experience the history of El Clásico in person while positioning the island as a growing global football destination and market.

I covered El Clásico de Leyendas as an independent football journalist and content creator, with full access to official media activities and on-field coverage.
My role included attending the official press conference, conducting interviews with legendary figures such as David Villa, and capturing on-field and behind-the-scenes visual coverage throughout the event. In addition to player and media access, I documented extensive fan interactions, focusing on the emotional connection between supporters and football icons across generations.
I also documented the community clinics associated with the event, where El Clásico legends visited a low-income neighborhood in Puerto Rico to engage with local youth, capturing the social and cultural impact of football beyond the match itself.
Through interviews, real-time reporting, and on-field visual storytelling, I produced comprehensive coverage that blended journalism with cultural documentation, highlighting both the sporting legacy and the significance of hosting El Clásico in Puerto Rico.
This coverage became one of the most widely distributed football media moments of my career, demonstrating the global reach of culturally driven football storytelling.
Content from this event was featured and amplified by major international platforms, including ESPN and 433—the world’s largest football media page with over 70 million followers. Multiple posts were tagged by legendary players, including Rivaldo, who also reshared the coverage, extending its reach across global football audiences.
Across my owned platforms, coverage from El Clásico de Leyendas generated over 20 million views, while reposts by more than 25 football media accounts with 1M+ followers each contributed to a combined estimated reach exceeding 100 million views worldwide. The content continues to be reshared with credit, remaining in circulation well beyond the event and into 2026.
This project demonstrated my ability to capture football culture at scale—connecting legacy, fandom, and global distribution through responsible, high-impact storytelling.
